Redentor Chavez I-Witness entered the world of Redentor and his fellow octopus hunters on "Sa Galamay ng Karagatan".

In the sleepy town of Brgy. San Isidro, Palanan, Kara David meets Redentor Chavez, a nine-year-old Agta who hunts octopus with his father.

At the age of 5, Agta children are taught how to dive up to 15 feet underwater. The sea has been part of their lives for as long as they can remember. It has been a friend to the Agtas but a friend who can turn into a foe.

Nine year old Redentor Chavez who catches octopus to earn a living and to have enough money to send his other siblings to school is now a Project Malasakit scholar. At the right is the latest photo and thank you letter from our Project Malasakit scholar Redentor. Redentor is very participative in sports and boy scout activities of his school in Isabela. Last week, I personally met Redentor's donor in Dubai. Mr. Ronilo Barriga is an OFW in Dubai and has been diligently supporting Redentor's education. Salamat din kay Mr. Sotero Tres na walang sawang sumusuporta kay Redentor. Salamat po mga sir sa malasakit!
